What did you do to prepare yourself for the
role of “Mica Kimura” in the series Codename: Danger?
Nothing really. Other than
reading the script A LOT. I have a terrible memory so I had to make sure I
didn’t mess up my lines.
What’s surprised you the most about being
selected for this role?
I had been a fan for
a long time and when I got the call to do a small role as a blind date I was
thrilled. All of the guys are great looking, but I had the biggest crush on
Dusty. When I found out he was the one I was paired with, I was even more
excited for the role.
What’s the biggest myth about playing
a character in Codename: Danger?
That everyone has to know how
to use a gun. I just know to point the shooty end away from me and that’s about
it. I was really glad I wouldn’t have to do any action scenes. Well, many action
scenes.
What’s the most challenging part about your
role?
The on screen sex scenes. I’m
a shy person so the idea of having to ‘perform’ with people watching really
freaked me out. Luckily I was paired with Dusty and he was great at helping to
calm me, and ease my fears. It also helps he’s freaking HOT! In the end, getting
that close to a person naturally, at least for us, lead to an off screen
romance.
What seems to be the biggest obstacle for
“Mica Kimura”?
Dusty’s job. She knows he and
the team are great at what they do, but she can’t help but worry when he has to
go out and put his life on the line. She knows it comes with the territory when
dating someone in law enforcement.
Are there any spoilers you can reveal to us
concerning “Mica Kimura”?
Nope. You have to wait and
see. But…Grams is pushing for more grandkids so…
What does the future hold for Mica Kimura when the series comes to an end?
I’m looking forward to some downtime with Dusty and possibly expanding our family.

What do you love about being an actress?
The ability to be everything
you ever dreamed of being as a kid. Who says I can’t be a doctor, and
policewoman, or the president? Being an actress means I get to do all of those
things and more.
How do you handle negative criticism and
rumors?
Dusty, a bottle of
Bailey’s and a nice hot bubble bath. LOL. No I’m kidding. Well a little, I use
Dusty for a lot of things, he’s great that way, but anyway back to the
question. No one is ever going to be
100% happy with you 100% of the time. I have to know at the end of the day, I
know I did my job and gave it my all. So I sleep well at night and don’t worry
too much about the haters.
If
you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
The one I am now! I work with an amazing cast and
honestly this has been my favorite job.
Which
celebrity do you get mistaken for?
I don’t think I’ve ever been mistaken for anyone.
What
do you want to be when you grow up?
Believe it or not, a psychologist. The idea of getting into people’s heads and figuring
out what makes them tick is very appealing to me.
When
you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
Since I’m always on the go, when I have down time I
like to just enjoy the quiet and peace of doing nothing. I know that sounds
boring, but honestly when you are as busy as I am, doing nothing is all you
want to do.
What
would you name the autobiography of your life?
When I Grow Up
What
songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?
Oh my goodness. So many. I love music and have varying tastes. I Will
Wait by Mumford & Sons, Not Afraid by Eminem, and Never Let Me Go by
Florence and the Machine to name a few.
Have
you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out
to be for the best?
That would be the broken engagement I wouldn’t even say
we were ‘officially’ engaged. When I was 18 I thought I was sooo in love with
this guy. Shane was his name, anyway he was everything my parents hated which
of course made him so much more appealing. Anyway he was ‘working’ to save up
money so we could move cross country but the garage he worked in didn’t always
get parts from cars that were junked. He’s been in and out of jail over the
years. So yeah…dodged a real bullet there.
What
do you miss most about being a kid?
Just being a kid. As kids I think we always say we
can’t wait until we’re grown, well sometimes being grown sucks. Bills, and jobs, and stress, and worry…blah.
I want to wake up and watch cartoons, play until the street lights come on. Be
able to eat what I want, well when my parents allowed, and not worry about if
the pounds were going to go to my hips or ass.
What
is your first memory of being really excited?
Getting my Barbie dream house. Yes I played with
Barbies. I remember seeing the commercials for it and wanting it so badly. It
was the only thing on my Christmas list to Santa that year. And yes I still
believe in Santa. Don’t judge me. Anyway, when I got up that morning and saw it
sitting there with a big red bow, I was the happiest little girl ever!
What was the last book you read?
The Bloodletter’s Daughter by Linda Lafferty. I’m not usually one for historical novels, but it came up as a suggested read on my Kindle so I bought it and literally was so engrossed I didn’t want to stop reading.
Do
you have brothers and sisters?
Yep. Two sisters and 2 brothers. I’m the second oldest.
Tell
me about a favorite event of your childhood.
Going on family vacation to the beach. We would spend
our summers there and I loved it.
What
are your hobbies?
Cooking, baking, reading, shopping; is that a hobby? I
guess it could be, a hobby is an activity you enjoy after all and I do enjoy
shopping.
What
countries have you visited?
I’ve been to South Korea, London, Jamaica, Greece is
beautiful. Sicily, loved it there!
What
story does your family always tell about you?
I’ve had enough of my family sharing my embarrassing
childhood stories whenever I brought home a new boyfriend or something. I’d rather not have to do it to myself.
Do
you like to cook?
YES! I love cooking. It’s very relaxing and I enjoy
throwing dinner parties. I recently started watching that Hannibal TV show and
that chef that makes the meals featured has a blog with all the recipes. I’m trying my hand at cooking like Dr. Lecter.
It’s very cool and my friends enjoy it.
What
do you do on Sundays?
I
usually get up to fix breakfast for Dusty and I. Then we will spend time
lounging around the house with the pets. He's been trying, in vain, to get me
to play this online computer game but I suck. He lets me stay on his team but I
think he's happy when I die off because then he doesn't have to worry about
trying to 'save me'. Some Sundays I meet up and have lunch with my girlfriends.
It’s always an event when we get together even for the smallest of gatherings.
What's
your zodiac sign?
I’m a Gemini. If you ask my family they will say the
twin thing rings true and depending on my mood there’s the good twin or the bad
twin. I of course think they are exaggerating. I’m always a joy to be around!
What
kind of people do you like?
Fun people. Those with a zest for life like I have. I
understand that we all have our down times, but it’s really no fun to be around
a person who is constantly complaining about all the things that are wrong in
their life.
Are
you a 'morning' or 'night' person?
Definitely a night person. I would really say midafternoon, early
evening. But mornings are not my friend.
I always dread the idea of having to get out from under my nice warm covers.
What is something you learned in the last week?
Well, hanging out with my girlfriends we started talking about sex. That always seems to be a topic for us. Well the term bukkake came up and thanks to the wonders of the internet at your fingertips always, let’s just say it wasn’t something I wanted to read about while I was eating dinner.
Would you ever go bungee jumping?
HELL NO!!!!!! I am not a risk taker or a thrill seeker.
What
is the worst feeling in the world?
Being sick! I just hate it. The sluggishness the aches
and pains. Yep being sick is the worst!
Would
you prefer a mountain hideaway or a beach hut?
Beach hut. There is something very relaxing about
watching water. The ease at which it moves, the sound it makes, it’s all very
calming.
Do
you like your handwriting?
If I could read it clearly yes. LOL I always joke I
have the handwriting of a doctor because sometimes it takes me a minute to
figure out what it is.
What
is your favorite lunch meat?
Roast beef.
Do
you prefer scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings. Scary movies, well scare me. My sister
decided to come over and keep me company one night and thought it would be a
good idea to tell me about this scary movie she watched recently, um Sinister.
Anyway she tells me all about it and then leaves me home alone! I had to sleep
with the lights on!
What
was the last movie you saw in theaters?
Thor, the new one. Man that Chris Hemsworth is nice to
look at.
What
is your favorite dessert?
I love, love, love a warm brownie with vanilla ice
cream
Do
you prefer television or a computer?
Computer. A lot of
TV shows are becoming those ‘reality’ shows and I have no interest in those.
There are a few shows I love to watch, but I spend more time on the computer.
It’s a lot more portable than the TV. Plus being married to a man like Dusty,
how could I not answer computer. And with the help of Tao, I learned how to get
a message to pop up on Dustin’s screen when he’s playing his game. Let’s just
say a picture is worth a thousand words when you are trying to get a gamer off
his computer.
What
is on your mouse pad?
Um…well see about that. Well for my birthday a friend
of mine had me one specially made. It’s um a close up shot of a certain male
body part. It’s supposed to belong to
some porn star, I can’t remember his name. Anyway it has this comfy gel part
for my wrist to sit on, so I use it. Gotta love the internet and the things one
can find on there.
Do
you have a special talent?
Yes I have a few, but you’d have to know me a lot more
intimately to know what they are.
What
profession other than yours would you like to attempt?
I think I’d love to be a chef or maybe a caterer. I do
love cooking and bringing a smile to people’s faces from enjoying a good meal.
What
was your best job?
I would have to say being a candy striper. I didn’t get
paid for it, but I got to work on the pediatric ward and anyone that is ever
talking about how terrible their life is, needs to spend time there. Those kids
would be sick with cancer, or other serious conditions, but they were always in
the best of spirits. You couldn’t stay in a bad mood being around them.
What
are your favorite magazines?
Don’t really read them. I do enjoy looking at the
covers of those rag magazines. The stuff they come up with is always hilarious.
What
is your favorite smell?
Well my most
favorite is Dustin when he’s fresh out of the shower. But if you are talking
commercially, lemongrass or lavender. It used to be just lavender, but I went
on a trip to Jamaica once and the room where I was getting my massage had
lemongrass candles burning and I liked it. It’s just as calming as lavender.
When you’re traveling, what do you miss the most while away?
My own bed. I don’t care how nice the hotel is, I never sleep as well as I do in my own bed.
What is the first thing you notice about people?
Their smile.
What is your favorite color?
Red of course. The color of love and passion, you can’t go wrong with it.
What
is most important in life?
Loved ones. That can be my family and close friends and
of course my pets. I need people in my life to share ups and downs with.
If
you could meet one person dead or alive, who would that be?
The person who invented Post-It notes! I use those
things a lot because of my bad memory.
Do you have any closing words?
Life’s too short to waste it. Find something you love to do, doesn’t matter what, well as long as it’s legal, and do it! Enjoy life because you only get one.
It was my pleasure. I had a lot of fun and thank you for inviting me!
Stay tuned everyone, there are tons more interviews to come with other members of the cast of Codename: Danger!
what a fun interview. Man that Mica sure is an interesting character. :P LOL
ReplyDeleteLol! Yeah Mica's a very interesting character! She keeps Dustin on his toes (or back)!
DeleteI could totally relate to playing outside until the street lights came on -- that was our curfew as kids. Too funny that you mentioned that! Great interview and I love that the poses look like they were just sitting there having a chat.
ReplyDeleteThat was back when things seemed so much more innocent. Although I'm sure there were kidnappings and such there just didn't seem to be as many as there are now (or just unheard of). It was nice being carefree and just hanging out with your friends until your Mom called you in for bed.
DeleteThank you :)
