A Savage Meeting – Pt. 4 – Bestial

Caleb hurried up the stairs of the vast Greymane manor with Kaya pressed tightly against his chest. Without knocking, he stormed through the door, yelling for anyone to help. Instantly her father, Armand Villalobos, rushed down the stairs, greeting him at the bottom with a scowl that made the wild wolf question his decision to bring her here. He wasn’t expecting a warm welcome, but he wasn’t expecting to feel like a pup by a simple look from the Greymane Alpha either. “What are you doing with my daughter?”

“She’s transitioning,” Caleb replied, adjusting Kaya in his arms as she jerked violently with another breaking bone in her chest. She screamed, causing the subsequent howling of a fellow lycan in a nearby room. Armand pulled his daughter from Caleb’s arms and carried her into the next room. Lowering her to the sofa, he again turned his attention to the man standing over his shoulder.

“You must be the wild wolf I smelled around my home a few nights ago,” Lobo’s lip curled slightly in the corners with disdain, his voice deep and guttural.

“I have a name.” Caleb replied with just as much contempt.

“And I don’t care to know it!” Lobo growled, his cold blue eyes lacking amusement. “Thank you for bringing my daughter home. Now if I was you, I’d be out of here in the next five seconds.” Lobo stared Caleb down, backing him up with every step he took and still the Savage was reluctant to leave.

“Dad!” Kaya groaned as she struggled to sit up. “Let him stay, please.”

“Kaya, stay out of this!”

“Dad!”

“KAYA!” Lobo turned to glare at his only child. Just then another ear-splitting howl ripped through the walls of the manor, catching everyone by surprise. The sound was emitting from the upstairs and immediately Kaya realized it could only be…

“Connor!”

Her suspicions were confirmed as the pack Luna, Kaelani, hurried down the stairs in search of her mate. Finding Lobo in the den with their daughter, her concerns shifted instantly and she rushed to her child’s side. “The both of them?” she asked frantically, dotting sweat from Kaya’s forehead. “Armand, do something!”

Forgetting the presence of the wild wolf for the moment, Armand called for more men to carry the two transitioning wolves into the cellar. Kaya’s best friend was brought down the three flights of stairs as well and took the room next door. “Wait a minute, you’re locking her up?” Caleb asked in surprise as he watched the men lower both Kaya and Connor into individual cells and shut the gates.

“This is not your concern!” Lobo growled, charging for the unwanted guest who’d followed them down to the basement.

“She could hurt herself!”

“And she could hurt someone else as well. This might come as a shock to you, Boy, but I’ve been through a few of these in my lifetime. I know what I’m doing.” Motioning towards a large man standing beside the door, Lobo ordered him to remove Caleb from the premises and ensure he never returned.

“Get off me!” Caleb shrugged his shoulders harshly to free himself of the men’s’ holds as he defiantly stared down the Alpha standing over him like a tyrant. He glanced in Kaya’s direction with saddened eyes as her breathing escalated and the sounds of ripping flesh echoed through the room.

“We’re done here. I suggest you leave now while you’re still capable under your own strength,” Lobo snarled as he looked back in the direction Caleb stared. “And if you come near my daughter again I’ll make sure you never live to see another full moon. Get him out of here!”

Caleb struggled against the man holding him, watching as Kaya writhed in agony on the cement floor of her prison. Kaelani knelt beside the cage door, looking after her daughter. She noticed Kaya’s movements and the way her pleading gaze continued moving towards the wild wolf. “Stop!” Kaelani spoke commandingly to the man lugging Caleb away. “Release him.” Armand turned to face his wife, angry at her defiance. With a look, he questioned her decision and Kaelani sighed, stepping back towards the cage door. “Our daughter needs him, can’t you see it?”

“What Kaya needs is to be protected from his kind, not thrown, literally, to the wolves. You don’t know what they are capable of, Kae,” Lobo reasoned with his wife, hoping to make her come to terms with his decision. But she stood resolute. Although she had her reservations about the Savages, she could see how much Kaya responded to this one in particular and right now, her only concern was the health of her only child. “Fine,” Lobo growled and ordered his men back. “You don’t leave this spot. Stay away from the door and away from my daughter. Patrick, keep an eye on him. If he even so much as breathes, kill him.”

The steel door to the room slammed and Kaya and Connor were left alone behind the bars of their individual cells. Finally able to move, she pressed her back against the wall, leaning against it as her heartbeat slowed. “You ok over there?” Kaya asked once Connor’s breathing smoothed out.

“Yeah, just peachy.”

“I told you those tattoos wouldn’t prepare us for this kind of pain,” she sighed and leaned back against their shared wall.

“What can I say? You were right, as usual. The only thing I don’t get, I thought there would be some sort of warning, you know, before the change happened. Like a sign, a spot of hair on the hand like in that one movie with Michael J. Fox.”

“Teen Wolf? How could you think our experience would be anything like that?”

Connor shrugged, though Kaya couldn’t see it as he continued. “I just thought we’d know and have time to prepare before body decimating pain. I was in the middle of…you know.”

“You’re always in the middle of ‘you know’.”

“What I’m saying is,” he frustratingly interrupted. “I don’t get why it happened now.”

“Because,” Kaya started, slowly drawing out the word. “I made a wish and it came true!”

“What a second, you’re telling me you wished for us to transition and just like that…”

“Just like that.”

“Thanks! How nice of you to include me in this amazing plan of yours,” Connor teased and spit out another tooth. “Next time, how about sending me a text so I’ll know to be on the lookout for that truck that hit me.”

Kaya laughed to herself, replaying her best friend’s words in her head a moment as she glanced towards the door. Caleb was still outside, she could see the top of his head through the viewing window and it made her smile. She tried to pull herself from the floor to get a better look at him but the muscles in her legs had other plans. “Hey, Connor?”

“Yeah, Ky?”

“When you first felt the spasms, were you really in the middle of sex?”

“Yeah. The girl thought I came like she was the best lay I’d ever had,” he chuckled and dropped his head against the wall a few times. “Truth is I didn’t even get to finish. So on top of having every bone in my body turn to dust, I’ll have the pain of blue balls to look forward to as well! What about you?”

“Oh no blue balls for me.”

“That’s not what I meant, goofy. What were you doing when it hit?”

“I was with Caleb.”

“Oooh so that’s what Alpha was yelling about. Now I’m getting the full picture. It also explains why you don’t have blue balls.”

“What?” Kaya laughed and felt her face grow warmer. “We weren’t doing anything but watching the shooting stars.”

“Mmhmm.”

“Besides, unlike you, I’m not at all experienced with ‘you know’. I even fumbled foolishly when he kissed me.”

“Oh nice, here we go, let’s have more dirty details. I might get to finish myself after all.”

“Quiet, Plebeian, or I’ll have the stars rain more pain on you.”

“Oh yes, of course, Your Highness. I grovel at your feet!”

Kaya giggled and straightened her back against the wall. “It was fun though. Caleb’s remarkably sweet and intelligent…and old.” Connor’s eyebrow rose with that last part as Kaya continued. “I have a great time when I’m with him. And although he pushes me to the edge of ripping his clothes off and tossing him to the ground, he always stops before anything happens. He’s a gentleman.”

“Good. If he was anything less, we’d have a problem. But I’m very glad to hear you’re happy, Peaches. If anyone deserves it, it’s you.”

“Yeah. Now the problem is convincing my Dad of that.” The squeaking of the outer steel doors sounded and both Kaya and Connor turned to peer out of the viewing window but couldn’t make out much. They seemed to shut moments later and not five seconds after, Caleb came rushing through the jail room door.

“Hey,” he smiled, kneeling beside the cage. He reached a hand inside and gently stroked her cheek. “How are you feeling?”

“Oh you know, just another walk in the park with my friend Connor over there.”

Caleb leaned over a bit to make eye contact with the redhead, “Hi, Connor. How are you holding up?”

“Aside from the crunching bones, ripping skin and…” he paused to spit out a mouthful of blood, “…missing teeth, I couldn’t be better! No, wait, I lied. It would have been better if Kaya had also wished that our transitions would have been painless. That—that would have been perfect.”

Caleb turned his attention back to Kaya with wide-eyes of surprise. “You wished for this?”

“Guilty as charged.”

“Ha! And you didn’t think the stars would listen.”

“I know better now,” she laughed weakly and reached out for his hand.

“So—I used my wish for you and you used your wish…”

“For us,” she interrupted with a smile. “After all, it was you who said that once I transitioned, my parents would be able to see what my wolf truly wanted.”

“And I can’t wait for…” The sound of the outer door creaked again and before they heard the slam, heavy footsteps pounded towards the jail door and Armand quickly rushed inside.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”

“Dad!”

“I’m done warning you!”

“Dad, wait!” Kaya groaned, trying to stand as her father forcibly yanked Caleb to his feet and away from her cell door.

The two struggled for a moment as Lobo pushed Caleb towards the door. Kaya finally made it to her feet and continued pleading with her father, hoping to talk some sense into him. “What on earth?” Kaelani remarked as she stepped inside the room.

“Mom! Make him stop!”

“Armand!”

“I want him gone,” the elder wolf growled, tossing his full weight behind the shove he gave the visiting wild wolf.

“Dad, please! Let him stay.”

“No, Kaya, this is not up for discussion.”

“Dad!” Kaya groaned, clutching her stomach as a new bout of cramps swirled in the pit of her belly. “I need him. And if you don’t…back off…I promise you…when I get out of here…I…will run away with him…and you’ll…never…see me…again,” she moaned between aches before releasing an ear-piercing howl and falling to the cement ground beneath her.

“Kaya!” Caleb tried to move forward but was pushed back into the awaiting arms of a Greymane wolf.

“Hold him back,” Lobo instructed and knelt down to eye level with his only child. “Kaya, just try and breathe. Concentrate on anything but the pain. It’ll all be over soon. You too, Connor.” He watched as her skin split, revealing patches of light brown fur and her upper and lower jaws elongated.

Kaya stood rigidly in the middle of the cell. Her eyes began to change from their normal blue to an intense, animalistic yellow glow. She screamed in agony as the bones in her knees reversed direction and her ribcage shifted inside her. Her face contorted as her wolf’s muzzle extended and she looked up, releasing a long howl as more fur sprouted through her tearing flesh. Her clothing was shredded as her muscle mass increased and her internal organs began shutting down, one by one, reforming and in some cases, shrinking.

The pain was excruciating, there was no other way to describe it. But she took some comfort in the fact that she was sharing this experience with her best friend in the cell next door. Connor’s liver and kidneys had failed. His heart was pounding rapidly in his chest as razor-sharp claws ripped through the tips of his fingers. Long, viciously jagged fangs pierced his gums as fire red fur tore through the seams of his shirt.

Every nerve in their bodies screamed out in pain as though each contained mini infernos of their own. The deafening screams could be heard for miles as their vocal chords tore, one by one, making the ordeal even worse. When it was finally over, the two newly born wolves howled simultaneously and the cage doors were unlocked, allowing them the chance to stretch their legs.

  1. Aww....how cute she wished for them to transition together. Well Connor didn't think it was cute, but still. What a way to meet the dad though. Lobo is not about to like the fact that his daughter wants the wild wolf. Yay for her mom keeping Lobo in check and seeing that her daughter needed him.

    1. Kaya could never leave Connor behind. They are stuck together like glue :) Although I'm sure Connor would have appreciated the heads up (especially since he was in the middle of sex) LOL! Lobo will have to get used to the idea of Kaya and her wild wolf. Kaelani is rooting for them and that is just gonna cause problems for Lobo if he can't get behind his daughter's happiness!

      Thank you for reading :)

  2. Kaya can't do anything without Connor. ;) They do make quite the team. It is nice to see Kaya's Mom and see that Mom appears to sense the connection between Kaya and Caleb. Nearly 600 years old though? He IS old! *LOL* He seems like maybe he was sheltered. He doesn't really seem to be wise to the world, like you would expect someone of that age. I guess that's a vampire trait, the wisdom of longevity ;) They are cute together in their innocence.

    1. Lol! Nope! True blue! Kaelani was missed. It's sweet seeing Mother and daughter together since Kaya really missed out on having her in her life in the main story. Kaelani is definitely the sensible one and is understandable (when you think about Lobo now) why he is the way he is. He was left with a HUGE hole in his heart. Hahaha yes, Caleb is a very old man. I guess Kaya IS a baby compared to him.

      Thank you for reading :)
